It’s time to bring on the shine and save from Don Aslett’s Cleaning Center!

Your floors can look beautiful even if they take a beating. We’re here to help you with simple techniques to get those floors sparkling fast, and best of all… keep them that way!

Here’s a step-by-step “how to” in floor care.

  1. Start with a fresh surface – If it’s time to reapply a finish to vinyl or linoleum floors, it’s important to remove all the old stuff and dirt first. The best way is to use a good professional heavy-duty stripper. We recommend Mop Stripper. Just mop it on and let it sit. Then scrub lightly. The product does most of the work for you by lifting the old finish and embedded grime. Follow with a light scrubbing with a blue Mini Pro Pad; then remove the residue with a squeegee and dustpan or wet-dry vac.
  2. Protect – Now that your floor is clean, it’s time to follow-up with a long-lasting finish to keep the glow and shield it from daily family traffic. Nothing is better than Top Gloss. It protects vinyl, linoleum, concrete, stone and Mexican tile floors. Apply it with a water-dampened microfiber wet/dry pad. It will spread the finish smoothly and evenly and that’s just as important as using a good product. The wet/dry pad designed for the Mini Pro has a smooth texture that eliminates skipping, so your finish will shine in the middle and every corner of your floor. And, once you’ve applied Top Gloss, you’ll find shine doesn’t have to mean slippery. Top Gloss gives a super shine, but at the same time, it’s slip resistant.
  3. Maintain regularly – Floors take a lot of abuse. So dust and damp mop with Microfiber to remove damaging dirt.
  4. When your floors start looking a little dull, rejuvenate the shine with Clean & Brite, a good neutral cleaner with the power to remove dirt, hard water scale and even ice melt. It’s safe on many types of surfaces, including finished hardwood. And it’s loaded with optical brighteners that step-up the shine on floors and other surfaces throughout your home, even granite countertops. Or, if you have expanses of hardwood flooring, choose Wood Wash, a product formulated to clean wood with extra care. Applied, sparingly, this natural cleaner can even be used on unfinished wood surfaces.
